How cigarette smoking affects smokers

Every smoker is aware of the health problems that come with smoking, in spite of which smokers do not quite smoking easily.  Other than health ailments like lung cancer, etc there are other effects of smoking too which affects us personally and people have a tendency to ignore.  They are:

1)      Stress/Anxiety:  Every smoker feels that smoking calms us down but it is just the reverse as nicotine increases stress and anxiety.  In fact scientific facts have shown that once you quit smoking it decreases the stress levels after overcoming the first withdrawal symptoms.

2)       Wrinkles/premature aging:  Nicotine causes wrinkles and also early premature aging; the skin turns pale, teeth turns yellow with stain marks. Tobacco causes more harm to the skin.

3)      Tiredness:  Smoking makes you feel fatigued and cigarettes taken away oxygen and that’s when we feel tired and without energy.

4)      Impotence:  Cigarette smoking causes erectile dysfunction as nicotine affects the blood flow to the penile arteries as well as lowers sperm count.

5)      Loose the sense of taste and smell:  Two of the most important senses i.e. taste and smell is prevented by the use of nicotine and this does not let us enjoy life and much more.

Its therefore very essential to quit smoking immediately; the smoker may suffer from some withdrawal symptoms but these are temporary and you can get your energy back within a short period.
